Native-language UK SME service

Get UK card payments or business finance without speaking English.

Kartapay accepts UK card-terminal and business-finance enquiries in Polish or Romanian, the application form is in your language, and a native-speaking representative walks you through the application before any contract is signed. Contracts themselves are in English because the acquirer or lender is a UK FCA-regulated entity, but every clause is translated side-by-side and explained in your language. The provider panel is UK-only (SumUp, Square, Zettle, Worldpay, Dojo, takepayments, Iwoca, Funding Circle, YouLend and others), so the contract is enforceable in the UK and the money settles into a UK business bank account.

If you run a UK Ltd, sole trader or partnership and your first business language is not English, the major UK comparison sites work against you. They are written in dense English. They sell your details to a panel of English-only brokers. Onboarding calls happen in English. Kartapay is built differently.

What "no English required" actually means

It means three concrete things, not just a translated landing page:

  1. Read the comparison in your language. Every Polish page and every Romanian page on Kartapay is native-language editorial, not machine-translated copy. The fees, contract terms, and product descriptions are accurate and current. The lead author for English is also the brief writer for both vernacular sites, so the comparison logic is consistent across languages.
  2. Submit the form in your language. The Companies House autocomplete works for any UK-registered company name regardless of which alphabet you type it in. Native-language form labels (Polish + Romanian field labels, error messages, and confirmation copy) are rolling out across the lead forms , currently shipping with the English baseline plus a native-language confirmation reply within one working day.
  3. Talk to a human in your language. When you submit, we reply in your language within one working day. If the chosen UK-licensed provider does not have native-language onboarding, we sit in the call with you and translate. This is included, not extra.

What we cover

  • Card payments , countertop terminals, mobile terminals, Tap to Pay iPhone, online gateways, EPOS integrations. Every UK-licensed acquirer.
  • Business finance , merchant cash advance, working capital line, asset finance, invoice finance, BBL refinance, HMRC pressure funding. Every UK-licensed lender.

Where Kartapay is and is not

Kartapay is registered and operated in the United Kingdom by Best Business Loans Ltd (Companies House 16833937, registered office in Essex). Every provider we compare is UK-licensed by the FCA, HMRC, or recognised UK card scheme. We are not:

  • A Polish-domestic site. Not affiliated with polcard.pl, NETOPIA, or Banca Transilvania.
  • A Romanian-domestic site. Not affiliated with mypos.com/ro-ro or sumup.com/ro-ro.
  • A general lead aggregator. We send each enquiry to one fit-for-purpose provider, not a panel.

Phase 1 today, more languages next

Phase 1 of Kartapay covers Polish and Romanian , the two largest non-English-first SME owner populations in the UK. Phase 2 (Hindi + Marathi) is in research. Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, and Gujarati are Phase 3 candidates pending audience demand signals. If you speak one of those languages and want the comparison in your language, write to us at [email protected] , every enquiry counts toward prioritising the next language.

Why language matters more than the rate

When SME owners rank a payment-terminal or finance decision badly, the cause is almost never the per-transaction rate. It is signing a contract you did not fully understand, then discovering a clause you missed three months later. Multi-year minimum terms. Auto-renewal windows. PCI compliance fees buried under "industry-standard surcharges". Termination penalties that double if you return the device after the contract end.

The English-only comparison sites do not deliberately hide these. They just write the page in the language of the regulator, not the language of the trader. If English is not your first business language, you skim past clauses your English-speaking competitor would catch. Kartapay's job is to flatten that gap , same contract, your language, same questions answered.

What we will not do

  • Promise a deal the lender or acquirer has not authorised in writing.
  • Quote you a rate "guaranteed for life" , no UK acquirer offers that, anyone who claims to is selling something they cannot deliver.
  • Sell your details. You go on one provider's CRM, the one we recommended. Not ten.
  • Charge you a fee. We are paid by the provider on successful onboarding, disclosed before you sign.
  • Translate poorly. Each Polish + Romanian page is reviewed by a native speaker before going live, not auto-translated.
